Virulence of Vibrio has been known regulated by quorum sensing (QS), which is regulated by secretion and sensing signal molecule N-acyl-homoserine lactones (AHLs), including N-hexanoyl-homoserine lactone (HHL). Inactivation of QS signal molecules (AHLs) of pathogenic bacteria has been proposed as an alternative to antibiotic treatments for vibriosis control in shrimp aquaculture production. Despite the importance of micro-algae for shrimp aquaculture, still very limited knowledge is available on the AHL degradation by bacteria associated with micro-algal cultures. In this study, bacteria strains associated with the open cultures of the micro-algal Chaetoceros muelleri and Chaetoceros calcitrans were isolated, identified as Halomonas sp. and Bacillus sp., and were found to be able to degrade HHL at the rate of 0.24 mg/l/h and 0.28 mg/l/h respectively. Furthermore, addition of the Bacillus sp. and Halomonas sp. culture to white shrimp larvae significantly increased the survival of shrimp larvae %) when challenged with Vibrio campbellii (up to 55.0±2.6 % and 70.5±5.4 % for Bacillus sp. and Halomonas sp., respectively) compared to the control treatment (17.2±5.1 %). This study suggested that the isolated Bacillus sp. and Halomonas sp. from micro-algal C. muelleri and C. calcitrans can be used as an alternative biocontrol agent to control vibriosis in shrimp aquaculture through disruption of quorum sensing.Populations in urban areas around the world are exceeding rural areas and more than half of global energy consumption by households, businesses, transportation, and industries originate from urban areas. If currents trends in urban expansion do not change, the need of urban energy use will increase threefold or by more. Therefore, the increase in energy demand needs more efficiency in production and consumption in order to have a secure supply, especially with the use of renewable sources. The objective of this study is to identify the adaptive capacity of institutions regarding energy security in Palembang City, the national energy granary based on the MP3EI. The analysis also included institutions in South Sumatra province. Results show that the city government is not capable to regulate the energy policy and is only competent for operational use of energy instead. The capacity of the city government is limited to managing the energy policy and to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of energy consumption in Palembang city. However, the rest was covered by the provincial government who has the ability to manage the policies related to energy security. The millimeter accuracy obtained in Global Positioning System (GPS) observations has used in various studies of crustal deformation around the world. Especially for the interaction between tectonics and geothermal activity, GPS has established itself as a state-of-the-art technology capable of detecting ongoing
