Lack of electricity which is one of the main problems has been addressed through various renewable energy program implemented by the government and other development actors. This paper tries to draw the contribution of renewable energy program for Sumba livelihood. Rooting from sustainability livelihood concept, the renewable energy programs have been successful to promote sus-tainable livelihood in Sumba by improving the livelihood capitals, help increasing the welfare whilst providing accessible electricity. This paper also provides a holistic view of renewable energy development for sustain-able livelihood in Sumba trough a SWOT analysis that emphasizes on the challenge and opportunitiesPalembang City is one of the cities in Indonesia that has been trying to diversify their energy system, particularly in the urban gas system. Their urban gas network established since 2008 and has increased in terms of scale and area size. The aim of this research is to understand the demand of urban gas network in Palembang City based on the consumer behavior. Their behavior, attributes, and interaction are then simulated through agent-based model in order to estimate the gas demand for the city. A questionnaires survey was conducted to more than 200 house-holds in Palembang, which targets the urban gas consumer and non-consumer. The preliminary result of the characteristic and consumption of the urban gas consumer showed that the respondent spent less when they use the urban gas network compared with those who still use LPG. The next step on this study is to develop the agent-based model for urban gas demand and assign the model with an individual decision-making information.Banana is one of the most important commodities in the world and Indonesia. As the third banana producer in the world, Indonesia also produce various kinds of banana. Banana is climacteric fruit which characterized by an increase in ethylene autocatalytic production and respiratory rates during ripening. Each banana cultivar can present different profiles of ethylene production and respiratory rates during postharvest life. Therefore the study of ‘Klutuk’ banana gene expression during ripening process become necessary to compare genetic infor-mation to A genome which has been studied and reported scientifically. These data give us deeper insight in physiological and morphological analysis during ripening process of ‘Klutuk’ banana which affected by ethyl-ene-response genes. Ethylene treatment induce ripening process in ‘Klutuk’ banana and suggest that it was sensitive in response to exogenous ethylene.
